Sooo I just read the most recent Naruto chapter.
A lot of people didn't like him. But I did. He was neat and interesting and probably not the best fighter of the Sannin, but he had his own personality, did his own thing, and trained Naruto, so you can't hold that against him.
I'll miss him.
Man, Naruto's going to go batshit.
And you know, I'm noticing a really obvious trend with Masashi Kishimoto. He always starts giving the side characters backstory right before he kills them off. Zabuza? Haku? The Third? Asuma? It's getting to be a trend. As soon as you start to like someone, *poof*
Hmph.
In other news, finals are eating me alive, I want hot chocolate, and Doctor Who is the best show ever. I'm in love with the Tenth Doctor.
He fucking fought against Satan. AND WON.
Although, I have to say, THANKS, WRITERS, for such an obvious display of foreshadowing. Death is supposed to be a surprise, you know. It always is. Unless you're dying of terminal illness or are on death row.
I haven't finished the second season yet, but judging by the foreshadowing they stuck up there in flashing neon letters--and some things I've seen around the Internet--I have a pretty good idea of what happens. But still, don't spoil it for me, please!

Date: 2007-12-17 08:55 pm (UTC)It's actually a good way to kill people off. It ensures that nobody dies anti-climatically. I think Jiraya had one of the best deaths in the series so far. Good for him.
I'm right where you are in DW so I can't spoil anything. There's only one episode I've seen that you haven't seen and it's in the third season and it's still my personal favorite. It's called "Blink". You'll love it when you see it.
I've decided that when I catch up, I'll try watching the old series during the off-seasons. I'm thinking of starting with the 4th Doctor since he's the most popular and since there are no lost or b&w episodes once he's the Doctor. Though I may start with the 3rd Doctor just because they introduce the Master in his tenure. I dunno. It depends on what's available I suppose.
EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!

Date: 2007-12-18 01:17 am (UTC)Yeah, I mean I appreciate it as a way to kill someone off. It always pisses me off when authors/whatever just kill random characters or side characters in order to have someone die or to add to the drama (*koff* Remus and Tonks *koff*). I like that he at least gives some substance to people before they die. I just wish it wasn't becoming so obvious. As soon as we started getting his backstory I was like "aw, shit."
Lol, good. And I've heard about "Blink." Apparently it's freaking scary.
I want to see the previous series too, as well as the third season of course. And I've heard the title "the Master" thrown around on the Internet. I'm guessing he's some sort of nemesis figure, but don't tell me anything yet :)
Now, what do you think would happen if Sylar met a Dalek?

Date: 2007-12-18 01:27 am (UTC)I dunno. Sometimes you get a back story and NOT death. Like, take Tsunade. We got her back story already and she's alive. I dunno.
It's not freaking scary, but it's pretty freaky.
Yeah, the classic series is a mess. Most of the episodes are released sporadically, some on tape, some on DVD. There are a few torrent files, but they're either ridiculously huge with barely any seeds or they're very sparse. The third season shouldn't be hard at all to find. Oh, and I know next to nothing about the Master except a few unimportant things, so don't worry about spoilers.
And I think it would be amusing, but not nearly as amusing as Sylar meeting the Borg.

That's so unfortunate. I suppose you need to have simply been alive to see them all to have...seen them all. I'd download the third season, but I'm worried about getting caught. Dunno how strict the BBC is; though I know people who have downloaded it anyway and been fine. *shrug*
Lol.

Don't download the third season. Watch it online.

I think all of the Season 3 episodes are there except Utopia and Last of the Time Lords, which might find their ways there eventually anyway. It's how I've been watching Seasons 1 & 2. Pretty useful.

Date: 2007-12-18 07:41 am (UTC)Oh-ho! We've been looking for a place to watch them! Our disks finally crapped out (on the last fucking disk of the season, too!) so we ended up just going to tvlinks, or some such. We're down to the last two.
Sweet, though. Thanks!

Date: 2007-12-18 07:45 am (UTC)Yeah, TV-Links is dead. I mostly use that link or surfthechannel.com for my TV needs now. Oh, and you're further ahead now than I. I haven't had a chance to watch anything since the Satan episode.
Maybe tomorrow.

Date: 2007-12-18 07:42 am (UTC)Look at all my sparkly new icons. I just wish I still had Photoshop so I could make a Rose icon that says lupus in fabula.

Date: 2007-12-18 07:47 am (UTC)Your icons are quite shiny. Hee. Speaking of latin, does "tardis" mean anything in latin? Because I'm pretty sure "tard" has something to do with time and being slow (like "tardy" or "retard").

Date: 2007-12-19 09:42 pm (UTC)As for Latin, well, I don't know much Latin, but I know that the etymology of "tard" has to do with movement, I believe. To "retard" is to halt, hinder or stymie.
*goes to look up*
