Kenneth Lay is dead. Today the Munchkins sang their glee from the rooftops.
Probably one of the crazier Fourth of July's of my life. Last year my mom and I walked to this place where we could see the fireworks shot off in Livermore, then I walked home on my own, laughed at the people throwing fireworks, laughed at the billions of cops, and then ran through the sprinklers in the park on my own. That was crazy. This year, however, Liz and I went to hang out with a guy friend of hers. Then we drove up to Dublin to meet some other people and threw fireworks around an empty parking lot--it's legal in Dublin, illegal in P-town, go figure. I've never done it before, and it was pretty freaking awesome. One guy almost got his hand blown off, though it didn't really do anything, and Liz's friend almost got hit in the head. So much fun.
After that we went back to the guy's house and his parents came home with even more fireworks, which they, the parents, set off in the backyard. They had one that actually shot stuff in the air, that one was awesome--it shot like eight blasts. Freaking awesome.
Then we kind of hung out, played cards and eventually Liz took me home. Fun night all around.
France won today, too! The game kicked ass. It wasn't as up close and personal as Italy vs. Germany, but both teams were really good, and France's defense was hella good. France scored the one goal of the game on a penalty kick in the first half and kept that score for the remainder of the game. A few close calls for Portugal. Sweet game, and now France is going to the finals! Woot!
Still haven't had a chance to look for a desk, so that's what today's project is. Tomorrow I go in for training, waugh! I'm kinda nervous, even though I know I won't be doing much other than signing stuff. Hafta get up early, too--bleah.
Need to cook dinner tonight, too. Better find a recipe soon.
Did a little writing last night. Tweaked the E and Kail scene some and then wrote a tidbit from the badguys' point of view to kind of explain what happened, as I imagine the reader will be a tad confused by exactly what they did to Kail. After this it's a Tag scene in which he meets another slayer, and realizes something about himself, and then it's on to Morgan and...familiar time! Things'll get faster from there; I cut out one of the scenes I was gonna include before, since I hadn't counted on the intervention of the badguys. Plus I decided some revelations need to be saved for the second book.
Now! On to desk hunting!
Go France!
