Argh, apparently a load of people have given HHG2G really...really...abyssymally bad reviews. Like...unbelievably bad. Stick-your-finger-down-your-throat bad. Gouge-your-eyes-out-with-a-spork bad. And this is mostly coming from people who knew Douglas Adams and worked with him. They say everything is bad about the movie, and that even if it were an original work it would still be horrible.
This is so disappointing. I didn't expect HHG2G to get the best reviews--I mean, look at the rep they have to live up to--but honestly, I didn't expect people to think it had tanked. Alan Rickman as Marvin, you can't be too-too bad, but...I don't know, I mean, these people know the book well and knew Adams and all, so they're good authorities. I'm still going to go see it, but I don't know if I want to so much anymore. I'd hate to come out of the theater that disappointed.
That's Hollywood, I guess. That's Disney.
Anyway. Back in the [semi] real world, I'm still picking around with Kaz's backstory and the corp proj. A new problem has arised with Kaz's story--or rather, writing it will bring to light a problem in Penta 1 and 2. Disregarding Penta 2 completely, since it's a disgrace, Kaz's story may require me to rewrite a bit of Penta 1. And to re-examine the relationship between Kaz and Scarrow.
Still plugging along in "Atlas Shrugged", too. Ayn Rand might be a genius, but I'm not far enough along to say that in good authority.
BTW, Day of Silence is tomorrow. This is the day when people stop speaking in a sort of representation of how gays, lesbians and cetera have to keep quiet and all that jazz. It's a GSA thing. I made a shirt--hope it dries by tomorrow, which it probably won't. Anyway, if you want to participate just...shut up. That's the beauty of it.
Ima try to go the whole day. Shouldn't be too hard--I never talk anyway. :)
