Liek woah.
Last night's death toll:
Nathan
Claire
Hana (Wireless)
Future Hiro
Future Ando
Candice (shapeshifter)
Bennett (XOMG noooo!!)
The Haitian (see above)
Jessica (or, one half of Nikki)
Micah
DL
Ted (implied)
Mohinder (implied)
A whole shitload of people in NYC
That makes the people who actually survived:
Peter
Nikki
Our Hiro
Our Ando
Sylar
Possibly Matt
...think that's it.
So, yeah! The future is definitely a really, really bad place and we definitely don't want to end up there. So, fuck you, Linderman! You may be awesome with an awesome accent and you may make pot pies, but I think I'm gonna stick with the side of good on this one.
In the original timeline, Sylar was the one who exploded. Hiro stabbed him before he could explode, but since Sylar had taken Claire's power, he still went off.
Now that the cheerleader has been saved, the bomb is Peter. Just a switch of roles. And Sylar is definitely still alive and well. In fact, he has made himself look like Nathan, thanks to Candice's abilities, and is the fucking president.
Which leads me to think that Linderman is probably also dead, but that's not confirmed. Way to go, Lindy!
Future Hiro is quite the dark figure, mostly because he was unable to stop the bomb--a bomb which ended up killing Ando. Though he tries to keep that little tidbit away from Ando (our Ando).
Heroes are being rounded up like cattle and there's pretty much a war between them and the regular people. Bennett and Hana are trying to help Heroes by helping them go into hiding.
Future Hiro is a wanted "terrorist." Our Hiro gets captured at Isaac's place and mistaken for Future Hiro and subsequently tortured. I mean, really, how can you torture Hiro? It's like torturing a puppy or something.
Matt Parkman is the biggest asshole ever. He's working for Homeland Security. He kills Bennett and Hana, and then Future Hiro. He also hands Claire over to Sylar, thinking that Sylar is Nathan. Sylar/Nathan subsequently kills Claire and takes her powers. So much for saving the cheerleader.
Peter has a big old scar and has pretty much perfect control of his abilities. He's also dating Nikki, now that DL and Micah are dead--Micah was killed in the explosion, DL was killed by Sylar. Peter's also got the whole darkness thing going for him. He also knows that he was the bomb.
Mohinder is working as some kind of scientific adviser to the president (Sylar/Nathan), and is his typical curious and generally good self. He's the one who figures out what Future Hiro was trying to do by going back in time and such. He is also the one to set Our Hiro free, killing the Haitian in the process.
The entire episode circulates around Future Hiro and company trying to get Our Hiro out of Homeland Security's clutches, since Our Hiro is the only hope now of stopping the bomb. Future Hiro seeks out Peter first, but Nikki and Peter refuse to help (Nikki is posing as Jessica, btw). They then go to Bennett and tell him that they know Claire is alive. Bennett goes to Claire, who is working as a waitress at the Burnt Toast Diner (I think), and tells her she needs to leave town. Claire, however, is getting married, so she convinces her boyfriend to elope with her. Before that can happen, though, Matt goes to Bennett's place and tazes Future Hiro. Peter shows up in the nick of time to rescue Future Hiro and Ando (and the sword). Matt is so pissed off that they escaped that he reads Bennett's mind to get Claire's location from him. Then he kills Bennett and Wireless (Hana).
At the end, they manage to rescue Our Hiro, but Matt shoots Future Hiro before he can tell Hiro any extra information he could use. Sylar/Nathan comes flying (literally) to the place in order to catch Peter, and dear lord I wish I could have seen that fight. As everything is going to hell, Our Hiro manages to time travel out with Ando back to the present.
Leaving pretty much everyone dead.
So now Hiro has to go and kill Sylar, thinking that Sylar is still the bomb.
Oh dear.
Probably the best episode of Heroes I've ever seen.
Though in other news, it is spring and lovely and supposed to thunderstorm tonight. Yesterday I could smell flowers on the wind and there were clouds outside my window that looked like UFOs. Ahhhh...
