We did it! Julie and I have caught up with Heroes! Holy crap this show is amazing! The characters are so well done, the story is so well written--it's seriously the best show on television. It's like Lost back before it started sucking. Except that unlike Lost, you actually end up liking the "bad guys!" Woot! Next episode is tomorrow--can't wait! Now we have something to preoccupy our Mondays other than Writer's Workshop.

It's been a so-so kind of week. I've been trying to do my Soc of Religion paper--pretty much, I have to research a certain religion. Well, I chose Pentecostalism, and I left a message at the nearby Pentecostal church, just asking for times when their services are--but they didn't even call me back. I have another big paper for my Social Movements class--I'm doing the Iranian Revolution and I have a bunch of stuff to read. Also have a Soc of Religion test due next Friday, the same day as my Grammar and Usage midterm. And I didn't really get anything done today because I was too busy watching Heroes, lol.

Went to the opera on Friday. Yes, you read that right. Dillingham was putting on an opera called Acis and Galatea--it was in English and it was very awesome, since one of the characters looked pretty much like Edward Scissorhands. Fuck yes. The music was good, but I can tell why people prefer operas in other languages--it's a lot of repeating the same thing over and over. Nice music, but it gets repetitive. Hung out with Pat afterwards and that was fun. He also drove us into town on Saturday, which was nice. I found the next volume of Monster in the comic book store--woot! Probably the best volume ever and it ends in such a bad place!

We were also supposed to go see Casino Royale on Saturday as well, but we ordered Chinese that night and it didn't arrive until an hour and a half later. Same deal as what happened when we tried to see The Departed. Goddamnit. I felt bad because Pat was going to go too. In any case, we didn't get to see Casino Royale and instead started watching the third season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love that show, it's such good cheese.

I also handed off Pentagram to Pat for him to critique. I'm kind of nervous. The last time I sent something off to a First Reader, she was my cousin and it was a few years ago, so it was pretty much safe. But, I dunno. Lol, Pat, just don't rip it to shreds, okay? ^.^;

Handing off Pentagram has in fact gotten me back into the rewrite. It's good to return to the old stuff, put everything else aside. I'm going to work on the rewrite for awhile before I get back into Mot or North.

toukenjen has turned her story, The Askari, into a webcomic. And you should all go read it!!!! It's here.

Spring break is next week. Julie and I are going to stay with the family in New York City. Should be hella fun!

There's kind of a problem, though. Writer's Workshop runs from 8-9 on Mondays--there'd be no time to get from there all the way to Terraces. We haven't been getting many people lately (read: any) but if we ever did, it would probably be a dash just to get to Campus Center. And since both Julie and I are both officers (President and acting VP) we can't just skip it. We'll try to make it to Terraces, but I think there's a Heroes Party in one of the Campus Center lounges...we might end up just having to crash in there. Dang.

There happens to be a simple solution: DVR. Jesse has DVR, so we can basically start watching whenever. We probably wouldn't mind waiting a bit. In fact, Jesse's occasional Kappa stuff and phone calls force us to wait on a relatively frequent basis anyhow. Also the people in the Campus Center lounges would probably be watching 24. That's more popular with generic college students than Heroes. I know when I tried to watch Heroes in a lounge, a bunch of people tried to kick me out for 24. DAMN YOU JACK BAUER!

So if you wanna join us for Heroes tomorrow, send me a text message to let us know and we'll wait for ya. It's no trouble. In fact, it would allow us to skip through the commercials (which are all too frequent). DVR is a beautiful thing, isn't it? Jesse's room is in Terrace 8, Room 122. If the front door is locked, once again, go ahead and text me and someone'll let you in.

Oh, and if the cold, 7-or-8-minute walk up to Terraces is intimidating, given a fair amount of notice (like, before 8), I could probably drive you up when your Writer's Workshop thing ends.

Or if you just don't want to deal with all that, that's fine too. Just wanted to let you know you have options.

Well, it turns out that one lounge is usually devoted to Heroes, while the one nextdoor is devoted to 24.

Although the DVR thing certainly makes things easier...

You know what, I'll have to think about it. I also have friends at the Campus Center lounge that night. Though I was thinking a few days ago when that maybe, like, I could switch off--Terraces with you one week, Campus Center with my friends the next. Maybe that could work. Especially since there isn't much other time during the week to hang out with you ^_^ I'll think about which place to start at and let you know tomorrow.

Lol, I'm nervous. ^.^; Although which chapter? The original or the revised?...Guess I'll find out...

It does indeed. In fact, since you'd probably end up missing the first couple minutes if you were to go see it at the Campus Center (since it starts precisely at 9 and you said you have to run to get there anyway) it might be beneficial for you to see it with DVR so lateness doesn't matter.

I suppose you could switch off. Or maybe Jesse, Andrew, and I could start watching it in the Campus Center if the atmosphere is welcoming (as in the 24 fans aren't too disruptive). Let me know when you decide!

I sort of judged both versions simultaneously, but primarily the VLB version. I sent it a while ago if you wanna have a look.

I'm really sorry, Pat, but I'm gonna have to do at least this Heroes in Campus Center. I went to bed last night with a sore throat, didn't get any sleep and woke up with a full-blown cold. I was seriously considering skipping all my classes today, and the cold isn't even at its worst yet (haven't started coughing). Lol, and here I thought I could go the winter without it landing on me. *sigh* Anyway, I just really don't want to walk through the cold, and it would kind of suck to make you drive me up there at 9, for one, plus I'd feel bad about delaying Heroes for the others.

(Plus I heard through the grapevine that Jesse isn't all that happy you invited me and Julie...o_O)

So yeah, this one I'm gonna do in Campus Center. Though the Monday after break I'll come up with you, promise ^.^ And in any case, you're free to join us in CC.

Though we should totally find time to hang out sometime this week, since it's our last chance before break.

Oh, and thank you so much for the critiques. I'm still going through and making the changes and I'll be sending you a reply e-mail really soon (I've been asleep or doing HW the whole day...ugh).

OK. I probably won't join you in CC just because I've already said that I'm going to Jesse's for Heroes tonight, but maybe on a future occasion if the CC environment is agreeable.

That would be nice, but I'm not sure when exactly. I believe I'm playing D&D this Friday and we usually don't have any other time to hang out during the week. Except ASIC, of course.
