So it's, like, raining. And thundering. It's early March, in Ithaca, and it's thundering. And it's like 60 degrees out. It is about 90 in the dorms, no joke. I have the windows alllll the way open. I had my fan on yesterday, and today I propped the door open, so that wind would blow through the window (pressure when the door is closed restricts it). It's now maybe 60 something in my room. And it's still raining. In Ithaca. In March.
Yes.
I have an idea for my short story! I have to write a story for creative writing, 5-6 pages (ha!). This character wormed his way into my head over break and is still lounging aroung the desk of my mind. He's a treasure hunter. A quirky treasure hunter. Who knits hats. And is all kinds of awesome. The idea so far is a woman and her friend go to him to ask for his help in finding...something. A few details have been worked out, but that's what I've got so far. Hee hee. It'll be lighthearted and comedic and fun, woot, with a little bit of violence as forces work to prevent our heroes from finding the treasure. From the sounds of things, though, it looks like it'll go far over 6 pages, so I wonder what I'll do about that. Smallify the margins, 1-1/2 spaced, ten font maybe.
Mot is still at its roadblock, though I think I'm just going to plow through it and not worry about what's there. The thing is, I have this scene in mind that doesn't really further the plot but reveals something about a character that will come back in book 2. Specifically, that Kail likes kids, though his harsh exterior would make you think otherwise. In book 2, when everyone is separated and Kail and Tag are trying to find the others, they come across a very young Demon girl who will attach herself to Kail. Thing is, I've shown Kail's soft side, so I'm not sure this coming scene is necessary. Though I want to write it. It's all kinds of squee.
Hm. I think I'll write it anyway. Stuff can always be cut out in editing. Speaking of which, I did discover some stuff as I was going over Mot over break that I want to get to editing. I've gotta find my notes, though.
Saw shrink today, feeling pretty good. No real panic attacks in awhile, though a fair bit of general anxiety over break. The Lex seems to be working. I go to the doc on Thursday to hopefully get my prescrip refilled.
Oh, I read Artemis Fowl: The Opal Conspiracy over break, the fourth in the Arty Fowl series. It was pretty good. Considering my luck with series I've liked since I was younger, I was expecting more death, but thankfully there wasn't much. Heh. I'm not sure which of the four I like better, probably the last one or the second one. Or maybe the first one, although he was such an asshole in that one. *shrug*
Started The Maltese Falcon too, which is that classic detective novel that was made into a Bogart movie (which I need to see). Didn't finish it, though, as it was at the g-rents house and I couldn't take it with me back here. Sam Spade is certainly an interesting character, if an asshole. Reading it was actually what prompted my little treasure hunter character.
Got the 8th FMA disk, and I downloaded a BitTorrent thing so I have more movie options. Then downloaded episode 50--dubbed. How woot is that? Julie hasn't seen 50, which is pretty pivotal. I'm thinking of looking for 51 and the movie after this. The download also didn't take as long as I thought it would.
Writer's Workshop tonight. And later this week, ASIC and the thon, which is more Bleach. Woot! Unfortunately among all this I have to work in my homework. I've got enough of it that I can't wait till the last minute. The short story is due Thursday, along with an essay for Essay. Sucks. Soc essay due soon, too.
It's still thundering. Heh. I love thunderstorms. This one's a weakling though. And it's March. Gah.
Yes.
