Brought something of mine to Writer's Workshop last night. Prez wasn't there, so we did the one line thing again (where you write a line on paper, pass it along, they fold over the previous line, etc.). Then we did my bit, which was a part of Penta--the first vampire scene with Kaz, actually. They had a lot of suggestions, which either means that they're all better at constructive crit than me, or I just suck as a writer. *shrug* Don't worry, this post will be free of angst, :)
Saw Julie, obviously, and gave her the last three FBs, which she finished rather quickly. Ah, I do so like bitching about Akito to people who understand and who I can physically talk to. Watched more of the anime too, which is all kinds of *squee!* until Akito shows up *snarg*.
And woot! I got the first issue of Talismen: Return of the Exile, which is Barb Jacobs' comic. I don't think I've mentioned Talismen here, but I found Barb through Elfwood because she has the most AMAZING comic-style art. She and this guy, Steve, are working on releasing novels about Talismen, which is about these four kids who end up in the Plane of Imaginings, where dreams and nightmares come from (all kinds of awesome...and the ART! the ART!!). Return takes place later on, when they're adults and one of the main characters comes back to the Plane. *love* If you're interested you can find Barb and Talismen through Elfwood, Atlantis Studios or Drunk Duck (which hosts the comic online, though it's been down for a while).
I need Christmahannukwanzaayule presents for people. I have something for two of them, but that's only half. Plus, you know, I need stuff for my fam (two down in that area too).
House and SVU tonight! Party!
Gotta get started on my research paper. Intro due online tonight. Gah. I don't even know my main question yet. *facepalm*
And Motley Crew does indeed need an overhaul, of sorts. An entire scene (rather pivotal) is getting chopped out because it doesn't actually make sense, and the only reason it was there was to get things moving. It was an excuse, which isn't how you're supposed to write, so....yeah. Overhaul time. Dammmit.
Looking over Penta again, too. Did a little editing last night, spurred on by WW.
