Character Charts

---------------------------------------
I'm going to tag that to all of my entries from here until Nov. 11 (date?) with that.
So! Anyway, back in the real world, I've finally begun my character charts. By the way, for some clarification, these are not literal charts--I only say charts because both "character" and "charts" both begin with "char-." There you have it. These are actually lists of questions I need to ask myself (and my First Reader, once that's underway) about each character. I've gotten--count 'em--one done. These things are tougher and longer than I thought they'd be. But they are undeniably important to the editing process.
What a writing nerd I am. I recently did little diary entries for each of the main characters--I wrote their thoughts in first person, from their points of view. Gaia. I'm so dumb. Still, it did give me insight. As long as it helps me edit, I'll do it. So long as it doesn't involve animal sacrifice--or human sacrifice, for that matter--or S & M. Though I can't imagine what kind of editing would be involved in S & M. >:)
So it goes. I'm off to continue my charts.
