Saturdays Kick (sometimes)
Jun. 26th, 2004 03:36 pmHoomba!
Well, it's been a somewhat busy two days. Haven't had a chance to write at all, though plenty of ideas have been flourishing. Yesterday i spent a lot of my time reading, and last night we went to this concert type thingy. Not like a big time concert. We went up to Lick Observatory because me and my dad love astronomy and they've got bomb telescopes up there (we've been there a couple times) and the deal last night was that you could listen to this concert, a lecture thingy that we skipped, and look through J Li's telescope (Ips will understand that one!).
So the concert was these three people doing Celtic music. There was a woman on violin, a woman on flute, tin pipe, harp and this weird drum, and then a guy with guitar, mandolin and accordian (yes, accordian). I have a healthy appreciation of Celtic music, and these guys kicked ass. Apparently they've been at this sort of thing for a long while. They were good and the music rocked (well, in a Celtic sort of way), and even though it was real windy the view through J Li's telescope was damn good. Cat's Eye nebula, not my favorite, but it was awesome.
And hoo-boy, San Jose from Mt. Hamilton is incredible at night! All those little orange lights, it's sooo cool.
Well, that was yesterday. Today's been rolling along pretty slowly--but thankfully my CD's came, and so did the Netflix I've been waiting for for a week now. That would be the first three eppys of Inuyasha--I'm obsessed, I know, but oh well. The fuck-ups at Netflix sent it on Monday but the damn thing was cracked right down the middle. *sigh*. At least it was worth it, even if it was only three eppys.
Plus it's on tonight. Irony!
Well, I'm going to attempt to follow up that kiss scene with some connective tissue to the Next Big Event. At least this time I know basically where I'm going, and I've got a good Minor Event to squeeze in there between 'em. Woot woot!
And thanks again to Christina, you're a sweetheart! Serioiusly though, at least YOU can let people read yours. I'm waaay too self-conscious, though I hope to be rid of that soon. I really want to post SOMETHING so my billions of readers out there aren't disappointed.
