Just Kill Me Now

I guess writing for about a zillion hours last night paid off. I finally finished the huge battle scene, and I think it went pretty well.

But it's 33 pages long! In Word! Single spaced! 1 inch margins! 12 point font!

That brings Motley Crew to a grand total of four hundred and ninety pages. Four-nine-zero. 490. And they're gonna rack up at least another 100 before the end! That puts Mot at something like 600 pages when I'm done!

Just...just kill me now. I have to break this into two books or it'll never sell, but I have no idea where. Sweet baby Jesus. 490 pages! And they're not even to their destination yet! AUGH! It's too long! It's too big, Captain! If I give 'er anymore she'll blow!

/freakout

*sigh* But what can I do? I love it too much.

490 pages...*weeps*

May I just say, Michelle Sagara West's first book was something like 500 pages long, and her second was 600 or so, so it's OKAY. Relax. It'll be fine. 490 pages is something to be PROUD of, especially if their good, and if I may say--again--you do awesome dialogue and action scenes. So take a deep breath, sit back, and say, "Damn, I kick ass!" because where most people say, "Some day I'm going to write a novel," you actually have 490 pages of one--490 pages more than they do.
