Last night I get to cook at home. At least it was tasty, and now I have a good recipe for chicken fingers and honey sauce. I'm so gonna be cooking a bunch when we all get an apartment.

Course there's the money issue...

I'm almost totally packed. I always leave the essentials for the last minute. Laptop, laptop pad, some clothes, blanket, books I'm still reading, etc. All that gets packed right before we leave.

My schedule issues seem to be correcting themselves. My e-mail got forwarded to the Dept. Head, Sally Parr, and she said I could at least register for Persuasive Argument online, which I did, and I think it went through. Poetry I is the issue--the class is full. I e-mailed the teacher, but then I realized that that Poetry I actually conflicts with another class on my schedule. Which makes no sense, since I planned everything out before I even registered to make sure there were no time conflicts. What I think must have happened is, something on my schedule had a time change and that knocked my other classes off as well. I dunno. Hopefully I'll be able to get into the other Poetry section. I'll wait till the teacher e-mails me back.

The muse kind of exploded last night. In a good way; but unfortuately not in favor of Mot. The fic is of course swirling around my head--I want to get two more chapters written before the 28th, which is when I'll have Internet again (I can probably get writing done on the plane, if I get over my paranoia of people reading over my shoulder). There's that, then there's Fox Adderwood, which is kinda random. Fox--since that book's going to be set in the real world, not a fantasy world--automatically takes the back burner, much like You Are Here (which probably is my longest-lived Idea--it's also set in the real world so I've never actually started writing). There's this one Fox scene that's been floating around in my head, of when Mike drags him to a party as her date, not knowing about his practically crippling social anxiety. It's an interesting scene that shows a side of Fox you hardly ever see.

And then there's this new idea. It's not the Junkyard Dogs one, either, which I'm still thinking about. It's totally new.

What I've got of it now is the codename and the general idea. Right now it's known as "Angels." The gist of it is--and this is another older idea of mine--it's set in an alternate NYC or other big city, in a world populated by two kinds of people--the Earthbound and the Skyborn. The names kind of speak for themselves, but pretty much the Skyborn have wings and the Earthbounds don't. Lots of tension between them and stuff like that. Anyway, the story will circulate around four or five characters who belong to an organization of Skyborn and act as guardian angels. Skyborn have extra powers besides the wings, so pretty much what this group does is they find someone who is in danger and protect them. Though they're not your typical angels. For some reason the female MC I'm envisioning looks like she just stepped out of Hot Topic or something (*cringe*). I do know that when her "client" asks her who the hell she is, she just looks at him and says, "I'm your fucking guardian angel."

Which pretty much says all you need to know about her personality.

I do know she has a thing for lollipops. Yeah.

Unlike Spirits and Junkyard Dogs I can feel a plot forming for this one. I'm thinking there's a third variation of human, one who have traits of some other animal or mythical creature or something. And that this group of not-so-nice-semi-mythical-types is gonna give the guardian angels a seriously hard time.

Haha, I'm making the same mistakes I used to make when I was younger--having too many ideas swimming around my head at once, not sure which one to work on. The fic needs working on--can't disappoint the readers--as does Mot, which despite how unhappy I am with it, takes priority over everything.

Though, I dunno...maybe working on something new will give me the break I need from Mot. Of course, that happened with Penta and I hardly ever go back to it now.

The life of a writer. I almost envy those who have a hard time coming up with ideas. I mean, what have I got going for me now that I have every intention of working on?

Motley Crew

Junkyard Dogs
Fox Adderwood
You Are Here
Not That I Care (the fic)

Geh. The muse doesn't like to focus. Fricking ADD'd little...pink...thing.

(You remember the original Piffwing? She's my muse. That's my problem, I picked a crazy, pink, prophetic, rhyming kiffle for my muse. *sigh*)
