Every Once In a While...

talkingsoup...a TV show will really, really piss me off. Not the show in and of itself, but the issue it's addressing or the content. Like this episode of Cold Case I'm watching right now. With a bunch of orphanage boys in the 50's who are getting experimented on in the name of defending America against TEH EBUL Commies.
Sometimes I'm just...so...fucking ashamed of this country. I mean, we don't even know all the shit the goverment has done because Country/Group X is a threat to our way of life. And it never stops. People say, oh it happened in the past, they didn't know any better back then, well that's bullshit because it still happens today. Just look at Abu Ghraib and GTMO. It's okay to torture them cause they're terrorists. It's okay to infect blacks with syphilis to see what happens because who cares, they're black. It's okay to give psychiatric patients electroshock thereapy because, well, they're crazy, and it really, really works, we promise! It's okay to sterilize people with mental handicaps because, well, we can't have the retards breeding!
I haven't felt all political like this in ages. Guh. How can people do the shit they do, and how can governments encourage it, condone it, fund it? We look at the Holocaust doctors and the fucking horrible things they did to people in the camps, but look what Saddam did, look what the English did, look what the French did, look what the Serbians did, look what the Romanians did, look what we did!
