While Mushishi is very calm and meditative, Baccano! is very fast and loud and will thus compensate. Should be a good combo I think.
As for Trigun, I tried watching it last year and couldn't really get into it. Maybe things'll be different this time around.
You probably won't get this until you're in Florida, so saying “Have a safe trip” is meaningless unless it pertains to other trips, so I'll go with the all-encompassing “Have a safe holiday season”.
