Not Much

I have next to nothing to report. Gonna go see HP tomorrow with my Mom since she wants to see it. Worked today--next workday is Tuesday--and I'm almost finished with my training. I even did a few things on the registers today, though I suxored at it.

You guys. I keep finding this amazing ice cream. Haagen Dazs--they have--they have Amazon Chocolate. And Belgian Chocolate. Haagen Dazs...it's so expensive but it's so worth it. Oh my god, Amazon Chocolate is the closest I've come to Friendly's Forbidden Chocolate ice cream, which in my opinion is the best ice cream in the entire world. No, I'm not even kidding. I don't know what it is about it--it's just so fucking good.

I did a little bit for Penta last night! Woo!

Oh, and to clear up something in my last post--the Cthulu rumor has been debunked. The websites that gave "hints" about it turned out to be fakes. No one knows anything about this movie. And I went over and joined the group [livejournal.com profile] 011808.

And for any Avatar fans out there, I've heard tidbits saying that Avatar overall is slated for at least three more seasons, though there's still no word on what's happening with the third season. Apparently the production company/creators have kept up with working on it, but Nickelodeon's been incredibly slow with getting things in order. A bad habit of theirs. The general consensus at this point is that the next season is coming "Septemberish." Rumor, though.

God I'm tired. I was up till 4 looking over Penta last night. I haven't actually been doing any real writing for it; I've been reading it over, fixing problems when I find them. I don't want to continue with the rewrite until I hear back from my First Reader. Fortunately reading it is a good way to occupy myself away from this Mot mess and the damn fic chapter which has hit a wall. Penta brings back some good memories--and some bad. I love this story to death. It was the first story that I really truly considered for publication, and of course I still want to get it published. I don't know why I drag my feet on the everything from rewriting onward. I guess I just like the thrill of the first draft, you know? But I've gotta get past that if I want to be a real writer. I just really want people read this story and meet the characters so I can find out if people like them as much as I do.

Anyway.

Found this:

“For what it’s worth, the only site of ours that people have even FOUND is the 1-18-08.com site. The others (like the Ethan Haas sites) have nothing to do with us.”

JJ sent this in an email in response to the buzz about the Ethan Haas thing--the website that connected Cloverfield to Cthulu and has been debunked.

I think he's saying that there are other websites for the movie out there other than the main one, which is here and consists of three moveable pictures.

I love this viral advertising thing. It's been working so well with Lost and with Heroes. I can't wait till someone tracks down the other websites so we can pick them apart. This is the best part about it--he hooks us with the trailer and gives us little tidbits to work with from now until the release date.

Man, I got obsessed with this pretty fast, didn't I?

Second Cloverfield viral website found.

I'm insane.

I must sleep.

Check it out though. Particularly the history. And there are some scroll overs that might be significant. And the [livejournal.com profile] 011808 is good for news, updates and theories.

I'm gonna be a crazy person by the time this actually comes out. Hopefully by then I won't be sick of it ^_^

Oh my. Sea monsters.

Anyone heard of this? The Bloop? Apparently it's the more famous of several underwater, unidentifiable sounds picked up by an old underwater sound recorder used to track enemy submarines. Now the system is used to track underwater earthquakes, volcanoes, and whales as well. But it's also picked up a handful of sounds that no one can identify.

The Bloop is the most famous of these, recorded several times in the summer of 1997. It's got a ridiculous name, but it sounds ridiculously awesome. As far as I know, it's the only one of these unidentified sounds that's most likely an animal. It sounds a lot like a whale.

How did I not hear about this until now? I love this kind of stuff!

Anyway, you should all hear it, because it's amazing. Personally I like the idea that it's some kind of deep sea creature. We certainly don't know all of what's down there, although the thing making it is supposed to be huge, a lot bigger than a blue whale, and who knows if that's possible? There's a chance it could be something supposedly extinct--they keep finding coelocanths, megamouth sharks--but who knows?

Of course it could all be a hoax, but I like to dream ^_^ We don't know half of what's down there.

Here's the sound file, here's the Wiki page, and here's the Acoustics Monitoring Site that tracked and recorded the Bloop and the other unidentified sounds. Check them all out--it's interesting and awesome at the very least.

Well that's your random stuff for the day.

Went to HP5 again today with my mom this time. She loved it. It was as great as it was the first time.
