The thing about standing for a long, long time is that you don't realize how much your feet hurt until you actually try to walk somewhere.

It was rough today. For some reason my alarm decided it didn't want to bother with going off today, so my mom ended up waking me up at 8:30, bless her. I had time enough to get dressed, pony my hair and make an Instant Breakfast which I drank in the car. I was dazed for the whole half of the day with tiredness--you know that extra-special kind of tiredness where not only are you tired from lack of sleep, but also lack of food? Yeah. Fortunately I remembered all the shit you need to do with the customer, and I got some coffee at lunch which helped. Though I almost fell asleep in one of those pits in the mall. I'm sure the girls sitting across from me were wondering why I was staring at the floor for so long.

You learn all these little things, though. Like, without even really trying, I know where the Nike sweat suit stuff is, and the Boss shirts and the Tommy Bahamas and the 7s jeans. And also, if you don't have a watch, you can check the time by looking at your most recent receipt--it has the time printed on it. And the thing about Men's Sportswear is that almost everything there is silk so it's like soooffft. I have a particular liking for certain touches. Like beach glass--I can't keep my fingers off it. Same with those nice cotton and silk shirts. *mmmmm*

Tomorrow shouldn't be as busy, though it's still 9-6. Day started out pretty slow in fact, and got busy by the time I clocked out. I also realized that I accidentally overcharged someone for something. *shh* Don't tell!

Ips is still in MN, there for two weeks I think.

I think I'm nearing the end of Kingdom Hearts. Paid a belated visit to the Lion King world, finally, and lion-Sora is so fucking awesome, or so fucking cute I shoul say. It's like...Kitty!Sora. Oh man. And Axel! Awwwwwwwwww. I'm gonna use his keyblade till the end of the game--for sentimental reasons! And maybe there really was something between him and Roxas. Let's just say there's plenty of evidence.

No writing, *le sigh* and not tonight either, because I'm going to bed right now. I know--12:45 and I'm going to bed, it's unthinkable. Oh well. I'm exhausted. It was seriously hard to move when I got home, like hard to motivate myself to get off the couch to turn on the PS2. And KH2 wouldn't load at all, so I decided I'd much rather have a new version for the same price as a used one from Blockbuster, so my mom was a sweetie and ran out and bought it for me. Hafta find a way to thank her. ^_^

Baaad last day. It was really busy today. The heat must have driven everyone inside (it was really hot too). I'd all but gotten the hang of everything too, but now I'm gone. Pick up my first paycheck on the 20th and my second on the 5th. Woots. They said they want me back for Xmas. Will do. 'Course it'll be ten times as busy then...eurgh...

Rewarded myself with a trip to Borders. Found nothing new from any of the series I follow, but I found something that looked interesting. It's called Inverloch, and it's technically not a manga--it's actually a webcomic that made it to printing, which is pretty woot if you ask me. Anyway, it stars a furry horned wolf guy named Acheron and so far it's pretty awesome, plus the artwork is kickass. Oh, and the second Yami no Matsuei (Desdendants of Darkness) arrived yesterday, hooray! It was very awesome. I orded the third one in the store. Loves to this series. It's sweet and sensitive and also has a lot of action and intrigue and a truly psycho badguy, who wasn't in volume 2, and has some kickass battle scenes that I bet look killer on the anime, which I'm thinking I should check out. As if my harddrive could take it. *sigh*

And since there's nothing else to report, I've got movie reviews for y'all. I finally saw Howl's Moving Castle and Aeon Flux (the live-action one). I'll make the reviews brief.

Howl's Moving Castle
Saw this first in English for simple comprehension purposes, and also because I was dead that day and didn't trust myself with subtitles. Plus Christian Bale as Howl is teh sex. Anyway, the Miyazaki films tend to be really well done in English--I actually prefer Princess Mononoke in English, and I haven't managed to see Spirited Away in Japanese.

Anyway. It's a very, very good movie, with artwork, like always, that quite literally took my breath away. The characters are awesome too, I love how well-rounded and flawed everyone was. My only complaint, in fact, was that after two times of watching it I still felt like I was missing something. I mean, that's usually how it is with anime, even Miyazaki, but the movie left me asking some really fundamental questions. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't really understand the nature of the curse on Howl. Like, what exactly was the contract? And the ending bits were confusing.

The sheer awesomeness and fantastic quality of the movie made up for it, though, for the most part.

Score: 8 out of 10

Aeon Flux
Now I haven't seen the animated version or read the comic (there is a comic, right?) so I can't comment on accuracy. In any case, the movie starts out kind of lame, but once things pick up and the real mystery begins it gets a lot more interesting. I liked the idea of nature retaking the world. Most dystopia movies/books deal with like a wasteland type world, where nuclear war has destroyed everything, or whatever. I like the idea that the human race's greatest enemy is nature itself.

As for the twist, well, it's a cliche, but it has enough of an original twist that it's not too bad. The action scenes are a bit contrived, but still pretty decent. Pretty good movie all around.

Score: 7 out of 10.
