Got my class ring, woot woot! Of course I can't tell yet if it's going to cut off the circulation to my finger. I'm usually not one for rings. Oh well, it's a nice ring. I like it. I had a dragon put on one side and a capricorn on the other. :)

Lazy day here. I got up at like noon. Ever since then I've just been kinda lazing around. I'm trying to start Pentagram--code name for that story I mentioned--again, but I'm at a bit of a standstill. I know, already. I'm having issues finding out how to introduce the other characters. So far I've got the main guy and the leader of the group, but that's it. *shrug* It shouldn't be too hard. I sort of have an idea as to how to introduce the others, it's all a matter of connective tissue (as always) and chronology.

Might go to The Incredibles later, but I'm not sure. Again, no one to go with, but that's no problem. Nothing wrong with going by my lonesome.

Still got a ton of chocolate. Dunno if I'll be able to eat it all. Wait a sec...it's chocolate. What am i thinking?

I saw most of The Passion of the Christ last night. I know, sounds totally not me, huh? Ben ordered it on PPV and I had nothing better to do.

You want an unbiased opinion on it? It's an alright movie in and of itself. Aramaic certainly sounds a lot like Latin, but I don't know much about dead languages, so maybe the two are linked (probably are come to think of it). Mel Gibson was not any more anti-Semitic than he was anti-Roman--unless you take into account the fact that the top Roman guy was all, "I don't want to kill this man" and the Jews were all "Aw, kill 'im anyway." I can totally see why people would call it anti-Semitic, though, and honestly...it is, to some degree. But anyway, it was the Romans who beat the shit out of the guy, and it was the Jews who stood by.

Oh, and yeah. Apparently the son of God can afford to lose about nine pints of blood, withstand infection, whips with hooks on the end, and thorns being driven into his skull AND still carry his cross part way up the hill. Dude--seriously? NO ONE could stand torture like that, not even the son of God. I don't know what point Mel was trying to make, I honestly don't. Is it, "look at what He had to go through for our sins?" Or is it, "look how great the son of God is?" Or is it, "See what the Jews/Romans did to him?" I seriously can't tell. Maybe the guy just likes blood.

One thing I will say, Jim Caviezel totally rocked, even if all he had to do was lay around letting the shit get kicked out of him and say things in Aramaic like "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." And Mary was very, very well played by whoever that was. For once, women are portrayed as something other than sexual maniacs, evil temptresses or vile apple-eaters!!

*shrug*. I wonder what JC would say if he could see this movie. Probably just shake his head in bewilderment. It's sad the Christians didn't listen to what he REALLY had to say. "Love thy neighbor"...so long as he's white and straight. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"...unless you just don't like them. "Spread love (the word of God) wherever you"...and if people don't want to listen, you can always torture them until they convert.

People always think its weird when I tell them I believe in Jesus but not God. Hey, someone had to form the religion, right? And frankly, I think I'd have a lot more respect for Christians if they actually listened to what the actual man had to say and not their own stupid interpretations. Self-interpretation is all good and fine, but you have to be really stupid to misinterpret "love thy neighbor."

Hmm...I'm going to get into a self-argument here pretty soon on the merits and downsides (which there are considerably more than merits) of Christianity, so I'm just going to stop.

Go see Passion if you like Tarantino.
