So I've decided to title these entries after X-files episodes. The ironic thing is that the title to this one is actually true--of course it usually is for me. We started reading Catcher in the Rye today, and I've found I can identify with the cynicism of the main character. The book is alright but, well, eh.
On the subjeck of books, I've read two recently that mark high on my "Liked" list. These are The Year of Secret Assignments and A Spell for Chameleon. I won't bore you with a long explanation, but here ya go--Assignments is about three Australian high school girls who are given a project to write pen-friend letters to high schoolers of a rival school. It's all about the guys they meet and how they deal with stuff and it's really good because the author gets into the heads of the girls and guys really well. Spell is the first in a rather wacky fantasy series by Piers Anthony about this land called Xanth (which looks suspiciously like Florida...) and is about this spell-less guy, Bink, who has to find a spell or be banished. Both rock.
Overall, high marks--they've got my reccommendation. Read them, if you're not illiterate!
On a side note, livejournal seems to be assholey, because I keep tryin to post and it freaks out on me. Hopefully this will work this time.
