Microsoft Word Hates You

talkingsoupWell, it's finally happened. Microsoft Word popped up with a message saying, "You have too many spelling and grammar errors for us to keep advertising it with those annoying red and green lines, so fuck you and check the spellcheck if you want to know how much you suck at spelling and grammar!"
If that's what the box really said, I'd like Microsoft a lot better.
But what can I say? Most of it isn't my fault. Word doesn't recognize "Kail" or "Taenailo" or "tiern" or "Massori" as words, so that's several thousand right there. Plus there's a lot of fragment sentences--the good kind, the kind that add flavor. Mostly they show up when Taenailo takes the mic, (rarely), because his mind just works in fragment sentences.
The thing that sucks most is I won't know if I made simple mistakes, like spelling "the" as "teh" since it won't redline it for me. The red lines do come in handy sometimes. Ah well.
This actually happened when I was writing "Taenailo", the original story about cats, mostly because everyone's name in there was unrecognizable. Never did it in Penta, though. Probably because by then I'd discovered the "Add to Dictionary" button in the spellcheck box. Which is very helpful. I'd advise anyone who uses Word and writes characters with names like "Taenailo" to just add all the names to the dictionary. Spares you a lot of trouble.
