Dude, I'd completely forgotten about the fight with Deidara. He did use it then, didn't he? Hum. It's true that we don't know much about the Mangekyou, but something tells me this is something he developed recently. During the Country of the Waves arc he kept referring to his secret weapon as, variably, his Sharingan and his Chidori. I think he mentioned something about "getting more training" or something around the time that Naruto left and Sakura started taking lessons from Tsunade. *shrug* I guess all will be revealed eventually.
