The Woes of Simmering
Jun. 19th, 2004 12:02 pmIt turns out that letting a story simmer isn't always the best way to go. Here I am, on the verge of another Big Event in Alch. 1, and I don't know how to get there. I need connective tissue!
Any suggestions from my many, many, many readers out there would be helpful.
Rowan--main character--has just woken up after nearly killing herself using the ultimate of her magic, which is the power of stars (explanation forthcoming). Things have gone awry on the ship she's on (pirate ship they're using to get to this archipelago the Alchemist has staked a claim on) because of certain past events. They've just had a serious on-sea battle w/aforementioned Alchemist, and they've lost a lot of lives. Also my Demon and another main character, Catcher, had a big time fight because they hate each other, and the end result was said Demon escaped only to find himself in the middle of another battle w/ an evil Angel (I know that's an oxymoron, but not in my world). Demon survived, barely, but now things are all tense and antsy, so Rowan has to find away to make love not war among the peeps before they get to this mysterious and evil archipelago, which is where she's going to "die" anyway. I have to get from where I am now--Rowan just woken up--to a scene between Rowan and Demon Fell where they realize they love each other to archipelago. Connective tissue! I need cartilige!
